The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has revealed the names of additional speakers that will appear at AIM Connected in April.
The latest set of speakers to be announced include experts from across the music industry, including individuals from VICE, Deezer, BBC Radio 1, Merlin, Worldwide FM, Royal Mountain Records, Complex, and Stones Throw Records.
The conference will be AIM’s largest to date and will combine their Indie-Con, Music Connected and Women in Music events alongside the three themes of business, tech and people.
Panels already confirmed to take place include, How to Break the Top 5 as an Underdog: IDLES, Middle Eastern & North Africa Spotlight: Tapping into New Markets, Power of the Scene: Maintaining and Promoting Safe and Inclusive Spaces, Scaling Up: Growing a Developing Label and Dimensions of Distribution: Evolving Models.
Keynote speakers will include filmmaker and cultural critic dream hampton and American composer, sound artist and music AI specialist Holly Herndon.
On the second day of AIM Connected shesaid.so will announce who will be included in their Altlist 2019, which aims to offer a positive contribution to the diversity conversation.
The recently announced speakers join Huw Stephens (BBC Music), Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai), Amy Lamé (London Night Czar), along with the founders of Hospital Records, Transgressive Records and Ninja Tune.
