PRS for Music board member Imogen Heap has been announced as the keynote speaker at the Association of Independent Music (AIM)’s Indie Con 2018.
The music conference for independent labels and self-releasing artists returns to London’s Glaziers Hall on 8 February and will explore the key areas essential for running a successful independent music business.
Offering ‘unrivalled networking and learning opportunities’, other speakers include representatives from Ninja Tune, Mute, PIAS, The Official Charts Company, UK Music, Warp Records, BBC Radio 6 Music and many more.
Multi-Grammy Award nominated musician Heap, who joined the PRS board as a writer director last year, will talk about her many endeavours in music and technology with AIM CEO Paul Pacifico.
Meanwhile, J. Willgoose Esq (Public Service Broadcasting), Emmy The Great, Sam Duckworth (Get Cape Wear Cape Fly), James Brown (Pulled Apart By Horses), Eckoes (FAC Beat Board member) and ShaoDow (AIM Awards 2017 Hardest Working Artist winner) will take part in a roundtable discussing how they achieved independent success in the industry.
There will also be an album release campaign case study of Laura Marling’s UK top 5 album Semper Femina, with speakers from Everybody’s Management and Kobalt Music Recordings talking through its marketing campaign.
